V.C. Thomas was born in India. His home family life was the Jacobite Syrian Orthodox Church where each day began with a prayer, ended with reading the Bible and going to Church every Sunday. He attended a British-run Protestant School where each day began with a hymn and the Lord’s Prayer and he had to study the Four Gospels and Acts for the Cambridge Overseas School Certificate. He obtained his Mathematics degree from a Jesuit Catholic College in India and his Ph.D. from the United Kingdom.
